Her Name Was Ka’Sandra Wade

She was our administrative assistant at Action United. Her son, Zaire Brown, was a frequent visitor at our office, and spent time with the other staff’s children and grandchildren, while we all worked together to train new leaders in the community, and build power for low and moderate income families to win the changes that will improve their neighborhoods and their lives.

Because of her, the office was orderly, the database maintained, appointments set, services provided, and records properly kept. We miss her smile, her daily greeting…(Bon Jour!), and her gentle and calm demeanor.

Her favorite color was pink. She also worked as a hairbraiding specialist, and she was studying to become a Certified Public Accountant. She was an excellent mother and a wonderful friend.

Her name was Ka’Sandra Wade. We miss her, and we pledge to her to make sure her son gets the care and support he needs. Our whole community is the family of Zaire Brown.
